Traffic Control Services
This page provides information regarding the Pennsylvania State Constable’s Office Nazareth – Lehigh Valley’s role in traffic management—focused on safety, flow control, and institutional support.
Responsibilities & Authority
Pennsylvania State Constables are sworn peace officers authorized to direct or control traffic flow under specific circumstances, for certain events, as court-ordered, or during municipally coordinated circumstances.
Non-Enforcement Clarification
Pennsylvania State Constables do not issue traffic citations or summons for moving violations and do not investigate accidents; these duties remain the responsibility of local/state police.

Safety, peacekeeping, and flow management for courts, polling places, schools, places of worship, and government buildings.
Special Events
Public safety, pedestrian protection, and traffic control for parades, community gatherings, road races, and other authorized public events in coordination with municipal entities.
Road Closures & Diversions
Assistance with authorized, temporary road closures related to infrastructure work or emergencies, ensuring safe and clear alternative routes.

- 1. Contact Us: Contact our Office using the ‘GET STARTED’ button below, or by phone. Service requires advanced planning, please provide adequate notice.
- 2. Required Information: You must provide the following: date, time, and exact duration of the event/closure; exact physical location(s) and necessary detour routes; estimated vehicular and pedestrian volume; and a copy of any necessary municipal permits or state authorization.
- 3. Costs of Services: All judicial services are subject to payment requirements as detailed by the Fee Sheet of this Office.
